help planting tulips

Has anyone used one of these Bulb planting drills? I want to plant a swathe of tulips but last time a I tried I gave up after about 10 as my soil was so clay-y and compacted. It's better now, but I do like a good short cut.

No although I have eyed them up at flower shows. I think I've seen them cheaper somewhere . Assume you've tried a bulb/potato planter? Very cheap from eBay.
