Pots with no drainage holes

A colleague has offered me some lovely balcony pots with no drainage holes. She said herself they are not too sturdy ( plastic) so drilling holes not wise

This is a bad idea even if they are free, right? I would put crocus bulbs in.

shove "The four horsemen of the apocalpyse will find it when they're repotting their house plants into your containers."

yes, which is why it's better to reuse it. I don't like shopping so I tend to get stuff delivered - what a genius idea to use it to fill big pots! I wish I hadn't thrown out the last stuff that came in now!

btw I always love a statement that involves the four horseman of the apocalypse - I think it dates back to Sex and the City when Charlotte is knocking on Trey's door at night and he opens it and says "Charlotte - thank god it's you - I thought it was the four horsemen of the apocalypse".

(it's often the lesser lines in comedy that are the funniest).

Grin So right about the minor lines.

Of course, it reduces the amount of pot space for roots, but if the pot is just a bit too big for the plant (even with some grow room), that can be useful.

I'm thinking of the spring bulbs which won't have long roots I guess...not that I know!

minor lines - when Carrie says "I stopped watching television when people started putting leeches in their pants".

actually that's less funny because it's such a relatable thing to say...!
