Thanks, aircooled! I've been considering getting a Philadelphus!

It's a very strange shape at the moment. Is it still possible to prune it to get it looking more normal? Does anyone have any advice on how/when?

Leave it until next summer after its flowered, as the flowers develop on this years growth.
