Has anyone got a Halls Popular greenhouse? I've been looking at the 10x8 ft and it looks pretty good and a good price, I think, I'm no greenhous expert. I'd looked at the greenhouse people simplicity but after I phoned them yesterday for help/advice I'm not so sure. I ended up speaking to a sales person who didn't really answer any questions but did try to sell me a greenhouse double the price of the one I called about.
I live in Yorkshire and it can be quite windy so I want something that can withstand the weather, toughened glass and green aluminium. Thanks

I don't have a Halls, but they do have a good reputation.

I bought a Rhino because of the wind issue (also in Yorkshire). It is built like a brick shithouse, which ain't too bad for something actually made of glass

Thanks Shove called another company today and he said that Halls are a good make but after explaing where I live he suggested a different make, Elite. Again it's about twice the cost but he was really knowledgeable and helpful. I'll have a look at Rhino as well. I didn't realise how much choice there is
I'm after a 10ft x 6ft Ian's there are loads, I'm boz eyed from too long on the computer!

I have little advice on make but would urge you to get one where they come and build it. We opened our cheap/first greenhouse 3 months ago took a look at the instructions and ignored it. We finally started this weekend with the building, 5 hours in and its got the front and back panel done.
It's evil and I will forever regret saving pennies and doing it ourselves.
I can still hear the wails of my husband 'I'm an engineer - how can this be do hard' (that's the clean version)

I feel your pain Clark years ago we got a cheap B&Q one. You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to put together. Whoever wrote the instruction had never built one following them. It changed the order as it went along. it took two days to put together and it only lasted a few months before it bent in the wind.

Don't tell me it will bend in a few months!! The amount of fiddly nuts and bolts and washer thingys we've had to put on I expect this feeble polycarbonate monstrosity to survive a nuclear attack.
We do rent and we've said in a year or two when we move we're leaving the evil beast here

We live on a hill facing the Pennines and it gets very windy. The wind got underneath it and it actually took off, bit like the house in the wizard of oz. I'm not joking it went over a six foot wall and ended up on the drive, all twisted and bent.

Hahaha! Yes, it took me a weekend to do mine, working long days. And the instructions for the Rhino are brilliant. They came in a big book with a DVD that explained everything. It is relatively straightforward, but it it time-consuming. Way more pieces than you think, and therefore quite a lot more complex than flat pack.

The Rhino is very, very heavy. No way is any wind lifting it once the glass is in. The frame is really strong: have a look at the pictures on their website of lads sitting on it!! If you go for it, I would recommend the toughened glass. It's really thick and very safe.
