Tree seedlings' leaves dead

I have some Plane Tree seedlings. We went away for a week and the weather forecast said four days of thunder storms so I stupidly didn't ask anyone to water them. After a week of no rain and 27+ degrees I got back to find the leaves have all wilted. The buds are still green but not sure how they will survive without any leaves! Is there any hope or should I just give up on them?

It's probably worth watering and looking after them, in HOPE they might recover - plants can sometimes be surprising and survive.

Yes, dunk them in water to thoroughly wet the soil, then allow to drain and keep an eye on them for the rest of the summer. I've had a few Lazarus plants that have surprised me.
