Does anyone know what plant this is?

Not much of a gardener as have miniscule paved garden aka the Slug & Snail Paradise- but notice this keeps popping up. When I pull it out it has what looks like soapy bubbles on the roots. Does anyone know the name of the plant at all?

Japanese anemone?

Probably wood avens, which is a weed with little yellow flowers. If you are very lucky it might be a decent geum (with pretty yellow or orange or red flowers) but it's most likely th weed version. Sorry.

I agree it looks like Japanese Anemone or possibly a geum to me too, but then it also looks a bit like a strawberry!

Aha, found an older version with a flower? seed? head on it. Does this narrow it down at all?

Definitely Wood avens - Geum urbanum. They can spread like mad, so best to pull or dig up all that you see - I have a running battle with it every year!
