A plant identification one

Hi all, one of the massive bushes from our garden has just come into flower so I thought this would be a good time to ask if anyone can name it for me?

Philadelphus, also k own a Mock Orange

I am jealous mine has only a few flowers

ohh I an envious of that- mine sulks and has a scattering of flowers and that's that. Have shown it this photo and told it it's for the chop!

Ah Gatekeeper, don't be too hard on it! It's on a south facing slope here in sunny south Germany, where sometimes you would swear you can hear the plants go "whoosh" as they shoot up past your windows...

I love the smell, am planning to plant one near the front door.

They flower on old wood so if you are cutting back new growth after it has finished flowering, you could be cutting off what would otherwise bear flowers next time.
