Cordyline in clay soil? Will this work?

I put one about 20 cm high into clay soil yesterday surrounded by wood chips. Will this survive? Thanks

Probably - our garden is on heavy clay. Our cordyline grew to be 20ft tall, flowered abundantly and had to be taken down when it began annoying the neighbours (by invading their garden).

wow , that's good to hear. I think they are very attractive given that they are low maintenance too.
