Hi

I've (hopefully) posted a couple of photos - can someone tell me please if they are weeds please?

Thanks Smile

Aren't they ash trees, self seeding like weeds and the taller they get the worse they are to deal with, so yes get rid now.

I am not sure about this, but I think that first rather delicate one might be a rowan. Ash leaves are not normally that serrated. But I could be wrong!

I do like a rowan tree! They are small and have a lot of interest with a lovely shape, leaves and berries. Plus, they keep out the witches Wink

(Oh, meant to say - I think they are two different plants. Not the same.)

I agree with shove. Depends where they are as they will grow into trees. Definitely get rid of the ash though, unlikely to be suitable in a small garden.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes they are two different plants. I'll keep the rowan one and pull the other one out.

Thanks

Is the second one ground elder?
Spreads like the clappers and you have to either treat the whole thing by painting the leaves with something-or-other, or dig out the roots which go down and sideways forever.

I've got loads of it thanks to next-door
