Can anyone help identify what this is. It is growing at an alarming rate - now approx 5 feet tall. We call it the beanstalk.

Slight purple tinge to the stem. Green flowers.

Can you post a picture?

RingUpRingRingDown · 22/05/2016 14:45

Doh! Only just realised I hadn't done that, it would help, wouldn't it. 😄

Euphorbia of some kind, maybe?

JennyWreny · 22/05/2016 16:19

As MadSprocker says, it does look like a type of Euphorbia. If it is, be careful of the sap as it can be an irritant.

Felco · 22/05/2016 16:19

Euphorbia lathyris - it's quite toxic (give it a Google) but looks fab.

Cathpot · 22/05/2016 16:20

Another vote for euphorbia - if you pull it out wear gloves, sap is an irritant.

Sorry xpost

Yes, that's it! Thank you. Now to decide whether it stays or goes....

It's also known as spurge I think, it's a weed in my garden 😀

You might find it decides to stay whether you like it or not! We pulled a Euphorbia up a few years ago and it keeps coming back.
