Feature tree/shrub for the thin end of wedge

We're moving into a new house later this year with a small triangular shaped 15 ft long garden. I want to soften the pointiness of the garden with a tree of some description near the end, where two 6 ft fence panels meet at an angle of about 40 degrees. I am totally open to ideas though would love a reddy leaf tree/shrub or a blue green one like eucalyptus although I fear that would grow too big. Any creative ideas would be much appreciated x

How about a Japanese maple, see here:

Or a flowering Cherry though that will look bare in winter.
