Roses and black spot - help a novice

I need help. My lovely standard roses have got black spot. I've only had them a year.
Are they going to die? Can I save them?
They are quite young plants so I probably need to act fast if not too late
Help!

cut off or pick off the shoots with the worst affected leaves and put in council rubbish.
wash hands after doing so and wipe off secateurs with dettol
pick all affected leaves off soil underneath and put in council rubbish, not on your own compost
spray with roseclear eing careful not to get spray mist in eyes of self, children or wildlife
wash hands again

spray the wood support for your standard if you have one as it can carry the bug

if you think affected leaves have got mixed in with the soil change the soil

Also, should I be routinely spraying to prevent black spot in the first place?

funnyperson has given you some good advice. You've got a battle on your hands as your roses must be a susceptible variety. You need to treat as soon as the first leaves appear and keep treating throughout the summer - a splash of rain will spread the spores. Your roses won't die but they won't look good as the infected leaves will drop off. Good luck!

I'm not in favour of routine spraying
I think you can save your roses
Also feed them occasionally with manure or tomorite as well nourished roses are less susceptible to infection
