Although I'm trying to steer away from annuals I love cosmos! When and what size is it best to buy cosmos?

Easy to grow from seed!

Liara · 25/04/2016 20:22

Both are a doddle from seed. I scatter cosmos seed in place from seeds gathered the previous year and they grow like crazy.

Chippychop · 25/04/2016 21:29

So do I just scatter them??? Or don I need to grow and pot on,.. Happy days!

I sow in seed trays and pot on as sowing directly us a big hit and miss where I garden. But very easy to Grow.

Another seed cosmos person here! I'm doing the outrageously girly 'Cosmos 'Double click rose bonbon' this year. DH really does NOT like them so they are hidden in a corner of the greenhouse.

They need fairly warm temperatures to germinate and you need to sow fairly soon or it'll be getting a bit late. You might want to do them indoors if you don't have a greenhouse.

Sweet peas, ridiculously easy, just pop a load of seeds in a pot, again indoors or greenhouse, and separate out into clumps to plant. If you grow indoors you need to harden them off before planting out, so put them out during the dat and bring them in at night for a week.

Do you what's very easy to grow from seed and it looks lovely?

Cerinthe Major.
Lovely lovely plant.

I love cosmos; they smell like sweet meadow hay and bees go mad for them. Agree with Cerinthe- dead easy to grow and looks wonderful (and another bee magnet)
