Sorry, yet another 'what is this plant?' thread!

Pic attached... I like it, it was given to me by my dad, and he couldn't remember what it was called, but felt it would be best confined to a pot as it sends shoots out all over! But it is soooo pretty, and I've got to admit I'm curious to know how big it would get with a hit of space... So if anyone knows what it is I'd be very grateful!

It looks like Rhus typhina - aka Stags horn Sumach. It makes an attractive spreading tree or shrub with vivid autumn colour, but has the habit of suckering everywhere so don't plant it near a lawn!

Aha, the Sumac link would make sense, it does look a bit like the wild sumac trees we've got behind the garden... And they send suckers out bloody miles! Ok. Maybe a bigger pot is the answer. Thanks for that :)

Hmmm. Not sure. It may be related to Rhus typhina but it has smaller leaves. I think it's along the right lines though.
