tetrapak foxgloves: will they flower this year?

Was in B&Q yesterday and they have rather small foxgloves in a tetrapak that I was tempted to buy. I am worried that they won't flower this year (what do non-flowering ones look like?) and that the slugs will have them eaten before anything happens.

Just hoping for thoughts/advice.

I'm sure you already know how poisonous they are. They wouldn't be planted within reach of small dcs would they?

No, they wouldn't. All my children were shown the thread on here Smile

:) good to hear.

The first year they look like this. Nice low level foliage.

I sow foxgloves in July (you're supposed to do it a bit earlier, but I always forget) and they flower the next year. Am assuming yours are sown about the same time so should flower this summer???

But I don't know how they work these things in big commercial suppliers. Am I wrong?

I don't know how they do it? I was wondering if the ones sold are in their second year so they will flower this year? On the offers thread there are foxglove plugs, are they any good?
