Scabiosa seeds

I have a huge quantity of seeds collected from plants last autumn.
I had a conifer hedge which gave much privacy but was diseased and had it removed in October. I now have a newly planted Hornbeam hedge along a very long border and planned to grow Scabious alongside this summer to help soften the stark emptiness.
There are far too many seeds for me to start them off indoors. When would be the best time to sow outside?

Any time. But it depends on the variety - some are hybrids and won't be viable.

Mine are the self seeded descendants of a pack of seeds I bought years ago so no idea of variety. I guess that means they like the soil. I read that you should sow in Autumn so figure they are pretty hardy. I just wondered whether it would be better to get them in now or wait another month.
