Christmas tree cuttings?

We had a really beautiful Christmas this, was so pleased with how it looked.

MIL said why don't take some cuttings to grow some on, I didn't know you could!

Have tried to google but not much luck finding out how to do it, anyone done this or know how to?

I don't think cuttings will 'take' and even if it had good roots to start, they are difficult to keep alive - not impossible, but not a good success rate.

I have a collection, but they were all rooted or potted to begin with. If you are potting a tree on or planting it out, you should use John Innes No 1 or No 2 compost.
