MIL always keeps her poinsettias 'damp'.

I've always let mine dry out and then soaked them. Both methods seem to work.

Poinsettias are for Christmas - not for life

In this household anyway

Indignativity you are so right - poinsettias are about as robust as Paris Hilton. Biggest trick is to keep their temperature stable - if you are taking them in the car keep them warm betewen the house and the car or the b will curl up and frazzle. Do not expect any of them to last beyond mid January, and don't waste energy trying to revive them. Just enjoy them while they look pretty.

i've given up buying them, they only seemed to last a week here!
