Should of grown lates too but this was my first year. My spuds are pretty good. I have quite a lot of maincrop Caras. If I store in dark cool place will they last until Christmas? I'll check them regularly

We keep ours up to a yr. We have an underground food store and keep them loose on the earth and well ventilated. We leave them out for a few days first to dry of a bit.

Definitely til Christmas even if your storage isn't ideal. We've got an outside storage room attached to our garage, and it does heat up beyond what's ideal on a sunny day, but they'll still last well into April. Haven't grown Cara, but I find of the vars I grow Orla tends to sprout first in a sunny spring, Sarpo Mira lasts longer and Pink Fir apple keep the best.

I sort mine taking out any with even slight damage to use first, then store the keepers in ventilated plastic crates with old blankets thrown over to keep the light out.
