Can I plant anything in my veggie patch now?

I still have runner beans courgettes, kale going strong, and caulis on the way... Garlic is limping along and I have 3 spinachy chardy things, but can I get anything else in now?
I haven't had much time to do as much gardening as I'd planned over the summer, but have a bit more time and energy now, just as everything has harvested :-/

yes!
you can overwinter broad beans and peas , and if you can buy some plug plants then its not too late to plant out some spring cabbages/spring greens.
You may just have time for lettuce and the little white turnip too :)

a lot of things can go in now as a head start for next year as said pulses, beets, etc or if feeling more lazy and want to rest the area then plant green manure to keep the soil covered

About a week ago, I did a big long list of overwintering stuff in the allotment thread, based on a table in Gardeners' World magazine (not that I read it or anything). Am too lazy to find it, but it's there if you look! And come join us on the allotment thread!!

I had a quick look on the allotment thread, but I always gets intimidated by big threads Grin
I will come and join you then, there's more likely to be ongoing stuff on there isn't there!

One quick question though, can I seed these things, or do I need plug plants? A friend has told me our local mini garden centre has a few plugs so I'm off down there tomorrow.

I answered on the other thread puffy - but winter greens will need to be plugs to give them a chance but the others you can seed :)
