we have completely redesigned our overgrown, full of weeds garden, taken years to do, but now have made it much more user friendly with raised railway sleeper planters. one of them encompasses an area that was pretty barren but has a laurel tree in it. we dug it over a few years ago and added soil improver etc, then began to plant a few herbs.
things are struggling to grow in the planter as there seems to be a very fine fibrous root system just under the soil surface, not sure where its come from! any ideas?
i'm going to have to dig it all out aren't i?!
