I am interested in putting a trellis archway round my back door to give some interest and ideally give a traditional cottage feel.
The ground in front of the house is very compacted etc and unsuitable for planting directly into so I am going to use very large planters which will hold about 30 litres of topsoil.
The site is south east facing but gets a lot of wind.
what climbing plants could I use, any obvious contenders?
is there any risk that the proximity of the plants could cause damp in the house wall?
