Can anyone identify this weed please?

It's invading my front lawn. And any tips to get rid of it would be welcome.

Prunus suckers? Do you have a plum tree nearby?

Oh they are little trees!

Regular mowing will nobble them.

They can't tolerate that. More will spring up, but jut keep,mowing on at least a fortnightly basis.

We get those, I'm not sure what they are though.

The red fleck stems loll like Japanese Knotweed which is a big problem if it is...it is illegal to dispose of cut knotweed because it is so invasive, compromises building infrastructure etc and spreads rapidly. There are specialist firms that can treat it (for an eye watering fee) and they will also identify it for you from photos for free. If you sell your house and there is knotweed identified then chances are buyers won't get a mortgage without certificates of treatment from aforementioned specialists...so I hope it isn't that!

These guys gave us a negative identification on some growths in our garden so you can trust them to do an ID for you

My first thought was baby fruit trees too! The leaves do look a bit like my cherry.

Glad to be of assistance:) We have dozens of the buggers in our garden. And we had a bit of Japanese knotweed too for good measure:) Ironically, the suckers are proving much harder to eradicate than the knotweed!!!
