Viburnum tinus? Is that a berry in the second photo? Did you see what the flowers looked like?

The leaves look azalea-ish to me but it looks to have more of a spreading habit?

The leaves look like a variegated laurel but a bit small for that perhaps.

I think it looks like viburnum tinus as well
