These are my strawberry plants I bought 12 mixed 4 died lots of strawberrys about 40 all still green. I have put straw on top of the soil but I found loads of mushrooms growing through. I pulled them out but was wondering what to do with the off shoots that are growing outwards?
Should I cut them off?

If you have long runners you can fill small pots of compost and place it under the new plants and peg them down under they have rooted properly. I use paper clips that I undo to form a kind of mini tent peg, works a treat. I only cut the link to the mother plant when they have a proper root system. Do you have space for a strawberry bed?

No I don't have room for a strawberry bed and none of them are long enough to reach the ground Sad
I will be happy to get a few strawberrys Smile
