My husband is a professional gardner (Pershore College and Birmingham). He is self employed and works in north Herefordshire. Most clients are reluctant to pay more than £10 per hour, we are led to believe that other gardeners in the area charge £15+ per hour, be this is just hear say. Any thoughts advice would be appreciated. I feel we are walking in treacle. Thanks

I pay £11 ph in Stanmore. It seems to be the going rate.

I don't really think my gardener is particularly knowledgeable but he is not bad and is very reliable.

I would pay more for someone who could advise on plants and design though.

In Devon we pay £13 an hour, but he isn't 'qualified', just a good strong young worker.

In north London £20 per hour is the going rate, but quite a few charge £25 per hours

Worth what you can get people to pay. Dont underprice yourself though.
