Help me find my "Apple Ringy" please?

Growing up, my grandparents had a shrub like plant which they called Apple Ringy. If it's any help, this would be in the Lothian area of Scotland.

I'd like to plant this in my garden, but when I google the name I get Artemisia maritima as the real name - but the plant I remember was more green-grey rather than grey-grey IYSWIM. It had a lovely apple/lemon/herby smell which you could sort of smell as it grew - but like lavender, you could release the fragrance by rubbing the fronds.

Anyone have any clue what I'm on about? TIA!

Does the form and size of the plant look right, apart from the colour?

One possibility: if you google image 'artemisia maritima', you see a range of colours. It's possible that the conditions in their garden, or the plant that they had, were more green than grey!

Another possibility: there are other varieties of artemisia that they might have mistaken for maritima? E.g. absinthium, which is larger and fernier and sometimes greener too.

Ah. That's the issue. The entry on Wikipedia was right- but hunting images threw up this one so it looks like it's just variations?

Now I guess I need to hunt it down.
