Does anyone know what plant this is? Saw it nearby and really like it.

Euphorbia characias

Yes, it's some kind of Euphorbia.

I have this in my garden and years ago my neighbour was shocked that I had it with small children. It's highly toxic. I have touched it whilst weeding and was fine but apparently it can cause skin reactions in some people. Very dangerous if eaten also.

Just to let you know in case you have small children who may eat plants.

Mine is out of the way and hard to reach.

Euphorbia Characias Wulfenii - the sap does sting/burn the skin so if you cut it back wear gloves and wash off any sap if it gets on your skin - but I love them - there are loads of different ones and they are all varying shades of green which can look great in flower arrangements. Many have this wonderful bright acid green colour and there are some purple ones as well.

Thank you very much everyone and for the poison advice as I had a scary experience with one of my children in a garden centre once. I think I'll steer clear for now and also stop my children touching them when they walk past them everyday on the way to school!
