Can you pour gone over wine into the compost heap?

I am interested in this, because I really don't know the answer.

I had a quick look online, and some sites said it worked wonders and acted as a kickstarter, while others suggest it's too acidic.

To be honest, I think I'd water it down in can and sprinkle it over and see!

Ah, yes, I could dilute it I suppose. I normally do put quite a lot of water in there to swoosh away the coffee grounds.
