Name this plant

I. Bought this plant in a local supermarket. The label said is was an alpine, but it didn't look like the plant on the picture ( different leaves). Can the green-fingered mumsnet fraternity help? Thanks.

Looks like it might be a Geum - does it have little stems growing out of the foliage? They have pretty orange flowers on them when they flower

Some kind of alpine cranesbill - erodium or geranium?

It's not a geranium. The leaves are quite soft. I've not seen any spikes.

Just googled germ. It could be that.

Leave off with the slug pellets though - slugs won't bother with that kind of leaf and they poison birds through them eating the slugs you've killed.
