Having some landscaping done, and trying to decide. I like brick edging, but what would go in the middle? Or something else altogether? Landscaper has shown me some sandstone-type slabs, which he says are great, but I'm not loving them. Give me some ideas! There is a lot of path, so can't be too pricey. Thanks v. much.

I did brick edging with slate chippings in the middle, but largely because constrained by my crap landscaping skills and cost! I wouldn't recommend it if you're paying someone else to lay a path anyway. I think smaller units than slabs (setts, for instance) often look nice, though it depends a bit on the rest of your design to be honest.

Have a look at Pinterest and see what takes your fancy.
