where to plant broad beans?

I impulse bought some little broad bean plants from b and q earlier. Will they do better in my sunny but exposed front garden, or my sheltered but shady north facing back garden? Thanks!

A couple of questions:

  1. What variety broad beans are they (they differ a bit in what they like - more info here www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk/beans-and-peas/broad-beans/broad-bean-robin-hood) and
  1. What is your soil like?

I'm tempted to suggest they would do OK in your sheltered and shady garden, but it depends a bit how shady it is!! I grew them successfully in semi-shade in a north-facing plot on clay.

Sadly I am no gardener and don't really know what type of soil. The beans are called dreadnought.
