Rampant honeysuckle from next door

How do I get rid of a honeysuckle coming through from next door that is taking over everything? I think he planted it to run through a buddleia he's got but I've had enough of spending hours trying to cut it back a few times a year. It's intertwined with a clematis I had which was lovely and I've ended up cutting out the clematis thinking It was the honeysuckle a few times now.

I notice that the next door neighbour seems to have cut his all back so think he's fed up with it his side too.

I love honeysuckle and am pretty laidback about the one that invades from next door, but in your circumstances I think all you can do is chop off any invasive strands as soon as you see them, unless you have any way of making your (I assume) fence impregnable.

No chance. It gets through the tiniest crack. It's like a triffid.

Use it? Let it intertwine with yours and trail some of it elsewhere?

Impossible to stop it really unless the neighbour takes it out so you may as well make the most of it.

Otherwise presumably you can see where it come through and just snip it at source, when the strand dies it is easy enough to pull out without damaging your primary plant too much.

Embrace it.

[Or paint weedkiller on the leaves]

Only joking!!!
