Sweet Pea plug plant question

BuddingGardener · 01/04/2015 09:38

My order for sweet pea scent infusion, 6 premium sweet pea plugs (30 plants) has just been dispatched. Do I have to plant each plant in a pot to grow them on? This would be 30 pots ?? They will all be in a big pot with an obelisk to grow up. I Think it's too cold to put them out now, I'm in scotland and planted strawberrys out last week but made a bubble wrap jacket for them. Should I go out and buy 30 pots?

if you look online it will tell you how far apart you are suppossed to plant them. that will give you an idea for how many per pot. u won't need 30. if they are very large maybe 3 pots....but i'm guessing here

Should I put them in about 3 pots and keep them in the house for a wee while? Then transplant them to their final home?

If they are indoors it could be TOO warm, and they will get tall and spindly. So a frost free greenhouse, so they still get light be best, but not be too hot.

However, indoors is preferable to being outside and getting frosted.

Gardeners world has an easy / beginners sweet pea article. My mum says that it's too cold at the moment. My seedlings are leggy so I will nip the tops.
