Should I give my Lavender Topiary a decent funeral

I bought my lavender topiary about 2 years ago from costco, first year was fine healthy & lots of flowers, last year it looked a bit woody more brown than green. I pruned it and have been waiting for any signs of regrowth. It still looks dead. Should I give it a decent funeral? New to gardening so still learning. Would appreciate any input. I cut one of the stems and it's white underneath.

You might have pruned it too hard.

Lavender doesn't grow back from below green shoots.

You could save it and use it on the barbie?

Thanks, if new shoots were to appear would they have grown by now? I'm loath to bin it in case it's still alive. It would seem cruel xx

Ice just popped out into the garden in the interests of research having a fag and my lavender looks more green and leafy than yours; sorry, but thar looks like an ex lavender bush.
I would be inclined to bin it, but wait until April to make the final sacrifice, just in case it resurrects itself. (But I'm overly sentimental about plants)

i tend to treat flowers that have been chopped into non-natural shapes like that as very temporary things - designed to last a summer looking good, possibly two summers if you are lucky, but after that chuck and buy a lush new one (evergreens are different).

Will do, when I popped out to take the photo on my iPad i fell over the patio step and landed like a beached whale and dropped the iPad. Limping off to work now. Thanks for the advice I will leave it till April then give it a decent funeral. Will reuse the pot xxx

Though it's a single sad specimen, burn at night. Lavender burns with a vivid green flame. Northern lights.

Scrub and bleach the pot.

If you haven't burnt it yet, you could try re potting it into good new compost, and wrap net curtain or horticultural fleece around it. And mulch over roots with bark chippings or straw.

It's probably cold, poor little thing!
