garden novice, help bald lawn

we had some new lawn in August, its at back of garden so not seen much of it over Winter. Was down there today and lots of bald patches. can we just throw seed over it

what do you mean with bald?
as in 'hay' coloured bits? (might be foxes weeing)
or dug up bits (again foxes)

long story short if the surface is even , yes just rake area well and put seed down when it's warmer (i.e, frost free). if not you need to prepare the ground more or the lawn will end up bumpy.

there are 'hay' bits on top of grass thats left, but also lots of patches of bare soil. can see crisscross of plastic from rolls of turf!
