Hi can anyone recommend a good supplier for cost effective shed in a beach hut style? I'm looking for a good supplier that can also install in the south east.

Could get a normal shed and paint it beach colours?

what do you mean by beach hut style?

I am in the coast and the beach huts are sheds but make of thick WBP ply or timber. They all have one door and one or two windows, with shutters, on the front. Many of them now have a fold-up timber apron that you can stand or sit on when open but lifts to cover the door and windows (beach huts are prone to vandalism and theft). They are not all painted like Neapolitan ice creams.

If you want a sturdy shed, look for "log cabins." They are not really made of logs.

You will need a concrete base or at least concrete pads and you must not have timber in contact with the ground or it will rot.

these things are sturdier than garden sheds. I think they are imported from Sweden.

Thanks very much for the links. If I can work out how to link on my phone I will link to an image of what I am thinking of.

In my head, having googled some more, I'd like ..

8 by 6
Something that goes up enough on the roof to look beach hut esque
Something I can paint in BH esque way
Something built to last (current shed is flimsy and collapsing)
Something that is more BH than log cabin
Something that predominantly acts as a shed inside (we won't be sitting in it)
Probably no windows at the side
I'm thinking a central door at the front with glass top half
Probably no windows at the front as no room with this width to put windows either side of the door
Shiplap? (my builder suggested 15-18 thick but the only company I visited said that 12 should be fine if it's vandalised)
Decent floor (solid?)
Overhang at the front
I think .. timber floor at the front of the shed to sit on with balustrade at sides only (no return)
Guttering? (neighbour told me I needed this but am conscious it's unattractive).

The company I visited gave me an approx cost of 1500 for this, installed (minus base). It sounds a lot.

That company looks interesting Piglet. They are a bit more log cabinny than I would like I think but I might call them. I think the BH company on reflection is maybe too BH for me given what I am now thinking. I suspect in the end that I need a pimped shed from a shed company.
