Can anyone recommend to me a beginners vegetable gardening book, ideally using the principles of permaculture, and with foolproof instructions for sowing and harvesting (perhaps a month by month guide).
Thanks!

The first one will be good for you. The RHS give good advice, and it has plenty of stars on Amazon

The second one I own - It has no pretty pictures, but is choc a bloc full of information.

I have "Grow your own veg" by Carol Klein. It's ace, really clearly laid out with one vegetable per double page.

Successful Organic Gardening by the late, great Geoff Hamilton is good - you might be able to find a copy in a charity or second hand bookshop.
