I moved into a new house last march .

I'm very new to gardening but have always wanted a garden full of roses .

I now have about 5 in my collection and want to add a lot more .

I swore to my parents is never be interested in gardening like them because it wasn't cool ..... Ah genetics.

What are your favourite roses ?

Blue for You and Emma Hamilton have lovely scent. I recently came across Chandos Beauty, which has the most knockout perfume, if that's top priority.

Oh I haven't come across that one , ill look on google .

did you see the great garden revival the night before last - rachel de thame did a whole section on roses and there were lots of fab ones. am sure you can see it on iplayer.
I love Lady Emma Hamilton too - have just planted some.
Plus Munstead Wood - gorgeous deep red.
Order a catalogue from David Austin - it's very addictive

Kathleen Harrop - climber, lovelier, pale pink version of Zephirine Drouhin. Gertrude Jekyll - amazing scent. Paul's Himalayan Musk - one to grow up an old apple tree. I could go on...

Munstead Wood
Nuits de Young
Pauls Himalayan Musk (climber)
Queen of Sweden
American Pillar (rambler)
Rosa Mundi
Mme Alfred Carriere

Gertrude Jekyll - the perfume is beautiful

Mr Lincoln is a gorgeous red rose with a lovely scent. My all time favourite.

Ohfourfoxache · 09/01/2015 07:35

Arthur Bell -yellow, climber, absolutely beautiful scent
Queen of Sweden - pink, very pretty cupped flower, long lasting
Rhapsody in blue - purple/blue, beautiful scent
Bridge of sighs - peach, quite simple flowers but smells gorgeous
Albertine - old rose, wonderful scent but the flowers don't last long. Rambler

These are my favourites but for different reasons!

Not as fragrant but beautiful - Dublin bay (red, velvet flowers) and Malvern hills (petite yellow flowers - lovely to grow up through a tree). Winchester cathedral (creamy white) is also gorgeous.
