I'm more or less starting from scratch, having had mixed results from T&My I'd like to look elsewhere for mail order plants/bushes/sets/seeds.
Where should I be looking?

I like to grow unusual varieties - I grow thing I can't buy. I have found Sarah Raven and Seedaholic good as they sell the seeds and provide good instructions. Chiltern Seeds sell good things but provide no guidance at all.

Once you're used to it, try Seeds of Italy - good value big packets of seeds but Ikea-like instructions with pictures that are no good for beginners.

I've had excellent result from the veg plants I've bought from

organicplants.co.uk/

Sensible quantities and good collections are available from March to October.

I buy most of my seeds from

www.kingsseeds.com/
