I normally buy mine from the guy on the market but I've missed him this week.
I am thinking of going online.
Any top tips?

spalding bulbs
sarah raven for dahlias
claire austin for irises
van meuwen for tulips
jaqques armand for rarer stuff though I think they've gone downhill since they decreased the stock in their stanmore nursery and the bulbs I got from them last year didnt flower- not one.
primrose
Taylors bulbs at garden4less

Crocus

Not cheap, but good quality.

blanketyblank100 · 05/10/2014 12:03

I get mine from Parkers wholesale and the b and quality sale. plus tulips from kiss my grass. occasionally use East anglia bulbs because Tracy is so nice :)

CuttedUpPear · 05/10/2014 21:58

Crocus are too pricey for bulk buying.
I'm thinking of going to Wilkos.

I've had some good ones from Lidl before, not sure when they do them.

violetwellies · 06/10/2014 10:03

I'm very interested in this thread, if anyone has a secret supply for a large quantity of poeticus I'd love to know Grin

violetwellies · 06/10/2014 10:06

I got some from Lidl a few weeks ago, but I think they've mostly gone now.

Rhubarbgarden · 06/10/2014 18:24

Bloms.

CuttedUpPear · 06/10/2014 19:37

I ordered £85 worth from Parkers last night (510 bulbs!)

Crocus species mixed
Tulip Apricot Beauty
Tulip Cum Laude
Tulip Silverstream
Pink eyed daffodils mixed
Narcissi mixed

Can't wait to get them all in!

Oh, wow, that IS bulk buying Grin (and I agree Crocus is far too pretentious expensive for that)

I may have to take a sneaky peak on the Parker's site...

CuttedUpPear · 06/10/2014 19:42

Well they are not all for me...only a few handfuls, the rest have to go out to clients.

PETER NYSSEN PETER NYSSEN PETER NYSSEN

Not always tip top quality, but I'm not sure anywhere ever is (have had really duff stuff from Sarah Raven)

but SO much cheaper than others I've looked at.

fasterthanthewind · 06/10/2014 19:46

oh no I realise you've bought them now. we've had 1000-odd from them for the last two years and are a bit burnt out this year, it's exhausting planting so many.

Parkers are nice. Although my last order was a bit of a fiasco: ordered mid August and delivered only last Thursday! They were spring bulbs.

victoryinthekitchen · 12/10/2014 16:06

wilkinsons, home base and b&q are all great and good price. Used to be tempted by the catalogues but just too pricey these days!!
