Help create long flower bed with instant appeal

We're putting our house on the market next month & I've got an empty raised bed (previously dug-out ready for winter bulbs) that needs filling with something that will give instant appeal. It runs between our raised lawn & the patio so very obvious from the house & is about 3m long & 0.5m deep.

I was thinking lavender plants with a trailing plant to fill in between. It's in a sunny spot with decent well composted soil. Any ideas? I'm not set on lavender but would like some colour & not too pricey as it's quite a big space to fill.

Lavender, Mint, Sage, lots of herbs? Very appealing :)

Perfect & not even considered herbs for some reason but you're right as sage, silver thyme, chives etc would look great with a few lavenders & are relatively cheap. Might steer clear of mint as I always struggle to contain it in beds. Thank you.

If you plant mint in pots then plant the pots it stays in one place Grin

Obviously autumn not a good time to start growing things, but you MAY find some garden centres selling off end of season bargains, (but also they may look a bit tatty by now.)

Or look round you local area, see what is in other people's front gardens, and tell them you ADMIRE it, and they may possibly give you a bit!

Fuchsias should still be in flower, so you may be lucky and find some.
