Do I add a layer of cotton wool ontop of seeds?
And then...do they go in the dark or the light please?

The seeds go on top of the damp cotton wool - nothing on top. Cover with a bit of card until they start to sprout, then leave them in the light.

I do them on kitchen paper on the window sill

Thankyou both....and the lesson I learned from this activity with 3 and 5yr old is to make sure I know what I am doing BEFORE I start the activity!!!the painted eggboxes with painted half eggshells are now taking up space on the kitchen worktop.....
watch this space!!!

check the cotton wool after a few days to make sure its not dried out. Can do it the sun quite easily.
