Where to buy garlic for growing?

My plan is to grow garlic to grow, but where do I buy it from?

Been to the garden centre, none there. Is it a seasonal thing? Do I have to buy it online only? I googled it, but only seems to tell you how to grow it, not where to buy it. Or is it me?

Please help....

Hi I am certainly no expert in these things but I think my mum just leaves a clove from one of her bought bulbs to sprout and then plants this.

But I may be wrong Confused
Good luck green fingers Smile

It's not a normal time of year to buy it, usually you'd plant late autumn or early spring. It's often sold with seed potatoes and onions...

Thanks jeni, I'll have another look near late Autumn then.

Hi, I used to just plant cloves of a shop bought bulb, around sept/oct time and they all sprung up new bulbs ok next spring. Sprouting first sounds like a good idea too!

Last year bought ours online from the Isle of Wight Garlic farm - really good - they include a useful gorwing guide

Thompson and Morgan online they send it when it is time to plant which is handy. :)

Try elephant garlic for a bit of variety, you won't get it in the supermarket and it is amazing
