i hate my hose ;<

it's so annoying, i have a stupid rounded mix tap and they blinking thing never stays tight so water drenches the whole kitchen, it's so annoying! have anyone seen a connector that would work?

What worked for me was paying a plumber to install an outside tap. It didn't cost much but has been worth every penny in time saved and mess avoided.

I came on to reccomend an expanding hose- way better than a normal hose.
But, I don't think you will find a good connector for taps like that. Ditto the outside tap suggestion.

i know we need an outside tap it's just one of those things that you forget you need until hot weather!

My mum bought one of those X-hoses but she didn't ever use it as it said something about not being UV resistant so she took it back, and still uses her old holey one.

I'm trying to convince her to buy one of those automatic ones, as she does find moving/winding a hose a bit much. But she hates spending any of her (pots of) money, and would rather huff about her old tat!

sinister - my sister uses that adaptor, I think. Certainly she has found that one with the thing that goes round that you tighten works best for her, but I guess it depends on the shape of your tap?

I hate my hose. I have every kind of adapter from hozelock and gardenia and none of them fit or work and every so often I forget this fact and get out the shoe box with the adaptors and struggle with the hose for an hour and end up using the watering can as usual anyway.

Second the getting an outside tap fitted. We already had taps in the front and back yards, as seems to be standard in Australia, but once we started to work on the drive side, we had another one put in when the new bathroom was fitted.

What has actually evolved at the same time is three garden equipment sites, with a hose, weeder, trowel, secateurs, dustpan and brush and long broom in each one.

I second the outside tap it's a godsend not sure how I lived without one!

I also hate my hose but that's because it's a curly one that twists and tangles and has now got a hole in it apparently as I accidentally left the tap on and came home to it spraying the neighbours garden, thankfully they didn't have washing out!

The garden equipment thing is interesting: do you just stack it all up by the side of the house?

My Dad has one of those X-hoses for his roof terrace. He swears by it.

In the front garden, everything except the long broom hides in the electricity meter cupboard; on the side drive there's a potting bench under the carport with hooks for the tools. The back yard stash is in the garage. You have to imagine a garage door with one of those roll-up doors at the end of the drive which leads to another roll-up door on the immediate right into the back garden.
