Building raised beds

are they as easy as they seem?

I want more space to grow veggies and my front garden is the obvious place ( total waste of space at the moment enclosed by a hedge)but the soil isn't great. And neither is my back so raised beds I decided were the way to go.

It seems that all I need are some boards, corner pegs and a hammer and spade, and then some soil/compost.

Any advice/tips anyone on the actual building anyone?

my DH built some last year, and you have to add a BIG set-square to that list, to make sure you get your corners to meet up

But they look really good, and you can put copper tape along the tops to keep slugs n snails out too (and gravel in between does a good job too)

Good luck!

thanks - I just told DH that and he grunted something about doing it by eye . I think I will build it myself
