Grass/weeds in between slabs & paving

I have weed killer which I'll be using, but what can you use to clear the debris out which doesn't require back breaking bending over all the time?

I have the same problem. Am thinking of getting a long handle hard wired brush to brush out the weeds.

one of these gadgets is good but I'm afraid it involves bending over a bit.

Ah, that looks more like I can be kneeling to use it; that's not necessarily an issue; it's stooping I'm not fond of doing.

Wolf do a similar 'gadget', but it's MUCH more expensive. But many of their tool ranges can be used with various handles, so could be used standing up, and their T-handle allows more sideways force to be used.

Also,a Karcher washer can 'blast' debris out, but you probably don't have access to one. (Ideal World shopping channel is best place to buy them I think.)

Jeeze I have crazy paving slabs that torture me yearly .
Best answer for me is to get kneeling pad out and an old knife and potato peeler .......on a cool day with wine in fridge for later . It can be therapeutic in short bursts .
Now I use weed killer religiously every three months before the horror starts again .

you can get a blowtorch type of thing.
you burn off the weeds and then just need a broom to brush off the path.

We use a swoe to slice the weeds off. We do it around 3-4 times a years. We run an organic community garden. It's best done on a dry day as the weeds are less prone to slip under the swoe's edge. You just slide it across the slabs and it slices them off.

Oops! I like the idea of the swoe, but I have no major funds for new stuff, so think it'll be weedkiller and a potato peeler! . The wine does sound good though!

pressure washer is quickest way for me - clears our the rubbish and weeds in one easy go

I've given up on traditional weed killers & now swear by 5 cups salt & 2 cups vinegar diluted in 5 litres of water. Be careful not to get any on nearby flower beds as nothing will grow there for months the after a week or so once everything has died (might need a 2nd application) use a pressure washer or strimmer to blitz away the dead weeds. This is my 2nd year of using this solution & only had to apply it once this year.

I second the patio knife linked to earlier. See before and after pics from earlier this year. Took about an hr and a half but we now keep on top of it by spraying Roundup every six weeks or so. For the first time in my life, I have a patio under control!

I brush table salt over the slabs into the grooves and it kills the weeds for ages.
