sunflowers

naughty squirrel has eaten my dcs sunflower plants

so just bought two established plants today, but wondering where to plant them. the sunniest spot away from the squirrels is at the front of the house, but would they be ok in pots or do they need lots of room?

Sympathies! The slugs ate our sunflowers this year, all of them the greedy devils.

Ours have been ok in large containers or pots in the past.

if it had to be pots, what sort of size should I go for?

I have one lonely sunflower this year despite planting umpteen. It's still in a little pot but I'm scared to transplant it in case it breaks.
