Not sure if this is quite the right topic but it seems appropriate. We've got slow worms Grin I had no idea but the cat has found 2 in the last couple of days and one was massive! They are really pretty Smile

Envy I would love to have slow worms.

I adore sloworms. We have them in our compost heap from time to time. Wonderful creatures. Smile

In Devon we have always had plenty: in the compost bin, under slabs - and often find several babies there - in long grass, or just out basking in the sun.

I guess an untidy, neglected pile of vegetation and twigs, in a quiet corner of a garden is the best way to encourage them.

We had a pair nesting under a paving slab at the edge of the garden unbeknownst to us but a builder removed them. I was like Shock Shock. I hope they've relocated. Our garden is messy natural enough and we have compost heaps.

Found a baby this morning! I have a natural hedge and have put in log piles and left the base of the hedge alone, plus put in a wildlife pond. I get slow worms and lizards, loads of newts, but no frogs or toads.

For anyone that likes them , you Re welcome to come and get them out of my garden, I am terrified of them and yes I know they aren't snakes and won't hurt me, but I hate them !
