Lawn mowing rates

What would be a reasonable rate for a non-professional gardener to charge me for mowing 30 sq metres of lawn using my mower and fuel?

Trying work find out the going rate is and if this chap is chancing his arm or if I am wildly out of touch with today's prices.

Many thanks

Depends on how far he's travelled to get to you, whether he's disposing of the clippings, doing the edges etc,if the answers are not far,no & no then I'd use my minimum rate which is a fiver,30 sq.mtrs doesn't take long to cut.

Less than a mile, no and no.

He started at £20, came down to £15 and £10 is where I think we should be.

Many thanks

Hmm. Based on what my parents have just paid for owing the lawns of the front and (huge) back garden, £10 sounds about right.

A £10 note is more than enough, tell him to feck off if he isn't happy with that & find someone else to do it.

I think I'd do it myself for free. that's a very small garden!

Smile Glad to see I'm not totally off the mark.

I would do it myself but for dodgy back, working, husband away for 5 months, toddler and frankly being delighted to give someone else £10 to do it for me.

Thank you.
